Social Comparison as Mediator: Does Instagram Intensity Predict Self-Esteem?

Instagram is one of the social media platforms that allow people to compare themselves with others (social comparison). Seeing popularity SNS, this study explores role comparison as a mediator influence usage intensity on users' self-esteem. The was conducted using mediation test technique through PROCESS program, 158 participants (25.95% male and 74.05% female) in age range 18-25 years (M = 21.53, SD 1.21). measurement tools used were Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), questions relating behavior Instagram, average duration spent Instagram. findings show downward did not act predicting young adults' On contrary, our suggested upward mediates relationship between implication will be further discussed.
